Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Able to project future purchases.

Purchase company products.

Ability to develop and maintain customers or vendors relations through open communication and professionalism

Provide an expert floral category advice to customers, vendors and company peers.

Ability to work extended schedules on certain floral peak seasons such as Valentine’s Day.

Participate in floral conventions, marketing events, trade shows, seminars etc.

Identify and resolve client or vendor concerns.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Creates purchase orders.

Uses computer to enter records and compiles receiving documents for company specifications.

Compares identifying information of items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of landing, invoices, orders, or other records.

Determines method of shipment.

Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, bad product and corresponds with shipper and vendors to rectify damages, spoilage and shortages.

Creates credit memos and documented reports to corresponding farm or vendor for all incoming rejects.

Accepts all purchase orders in the computer inventory.

Gathers all missing bills and invoice from farms and vendors for accounting department.

Routes items to departments.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum a High School Diploma. An Associate’s Degree (two year college or technical school) or office experience is a plus. Knowledge in the Flower industry is desirable.

Language Skills

Bilingual (English and Spanish) is required.

Mathematical and Organizational Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts of bills and other freight documents. Ability to organize paperwork and detail information.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of computer programs such as outlook, word and excel.

Communication ability is desirable.
