We currently have an opportunity for a 2nd Shift (4:15 p.m. - 2:45 a.m.) Supervisor who will lead, manage and the grow the manufacturing team. The Supervisor will foster continual improvement, and facilitate the company's growth into new industries and capabilities consistent with the corporate vision. Learning new technologies and machining processes is required.

Duties:

  • Protect the brand by always building quality in utilizing, maintaining, and improving AS-9100 compliant processes.
  • Require and own high standard for safety.
  • Run/Set-Up Mill and/or Lathe
  • Mentor and train all teammates to improve their machining capabilities by providing technical support.
  • Analyze drawings, schematics, engineering notes, and/or sample parts to determine product dimensions, specifications, tolerance as well as best method and sequence of operations needed to fabricate parts.
  • Work with production team to optimize fixturing, cutting, and/or machining tool selection, speeds, and feeds as well as process to take advantage of the latest technology and achieve the highest production rates.
  • Be able to advise on DFM. design for manufacturability, and work with design engineering to meet cost and performance expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, 5S floor.
  • Industry awareness of new technologies and machining processes.

Requirements:

  • Self Starter, strong motivation, and results oriented attitude.
  • Appropriate personality for leading and mentoring.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities under demanding circumstances.
  • Ability and drive to learn and apply new technologies and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using ERP software or similar tools.
  • Expert level of drawing, reading and machining related math skills.
  • Proficient in Mastercam programming from basic SolidWorks drawings.
  • Proficient CNC machine set up, adjustments, inspection, and operation for turning and machining.
  • Proficient in tool making and fixturing.
  • Proficient in Fanuc Controllers.
  • Manual machining experience desirable.
  • Prototyping experience desirable.
  • Familiar with ISO, Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement methods.
  • Preferred understanding of AS-9100, SPC/SQC.
  • 10+ years experience in CNC precision machining manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a CNC machining leadership role requiring supervisory responsibilities.
