Job Description
Local Industrial Distributor seeks Retail Counter Clerk for full-time position at our Burton, MI location. The successful candidate will be mechanically inclined, have superior customer service skills, with a friendly, professional demeanor. He/She will demonstrate a willingness to go 'above-and-beyond' the call of duty and demonstrate extensive fastener and tool supply knowledge.
This position requires excellent attendance, a minimum of 2 years experience serving customers in an Industrial supply setting, positive, professional yet friendly demeanor, above average computer use, and the candidate must be able to lift up to 50lbs. This is a first shift, full-time, non-exempt position. Hours are Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm, Saturdays 8 am - 12pm. Candidates must be available for overtime hours, including weekends. Starting pay $11.00 an hour.

Responsibilities include:
Sells hardware, such as industrial fasteners, hand and power tools, electrical equipment, plumbing supplies etc.
Greets customers
Displays merchandise, keeping showroom fully stocked
Receives payment or obtains credit authorization
May take inventory of stock
Keep records of out-going orders.
Obtain merchandise from bins or shelves.
Requisition additional materials, supplies, and equipment.
Complete order receipts.
Compute prices of items or groups of items.
Other tasks as assigned by supervision.
May assist in other areas for the total success of the company
Assist with Warehouse duties:
Pulling warehouse orders from packing slips.
Heavy lifting required up to 50lbs.
Stocking and organization of the warehouse areas.
Ensuring that outgoing materials are properly skidded and prepared for shipment.
Ensuring packing slips are correct and that standing orders are pulled and filled.Occasional forklift operation.
Cooperates in all areas when needed for the total success of the company.
