Job Description

SkyWheel Panama City Beach is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as the General Manager.

The General Manager’s primary role is to ensure the highest quality operations and guest experience through oversight and direction of staff and facilities maintenance. Additionally, he/she will help foster a positive work environment that ensures employee and customer satisfaction and maximizes productivity and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manages self and inspire/engage a team to achieve results by setting high standards for performance; coaching, empowering others, providing  feedback to the team, and ensuring accountability of team members for results
  • Leads and initiates change effectively while being  flexible and collaborative in all cross-functional responsibilities
  • Handles orientation, training and ongoing management of staff, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and practices.
  • Hires, fires, and handles disciplinary actions according to policies and procedures.
  • Assists with planning and executing employee incentive programs.
  • Exemplifies and maintains exemplary levels of guest service and handles customer complaints.
  • Handles customer-involved incidents and accidents and serves as primary emergency coordinator when needed.
  • Ensures proper staffing, capacity, efficiencies, crowd control and guest services standards are met daily.
  • Ensures the safety of the guests by reviewing and revising safety practices and procedures, and performing and documenting staff training.
  • Oversees management of cash and deposits ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and practices.
  • Fulfills all tracking and reporting requirements including daily, weekly and monthly checklists and assisting with preparation of monthly team meeting.
  • Assists in creating yearly operational budget and ensures the staff is operating within the budgeted expense amounts.  
  • Ensures the facilities are clean, functional, and well-maintained.
  • Takes an active role as a liaison for the venue by developing and maintaining on-going relationships with merchants, area businesses, local organizations, and other tourist attractions.
  • Execute and coordinate various marketing duties including coordinating group sales, implementing marketing promotions, and responding to leads, reviews, and inquires.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience in sales, customer service or operations that includes supervising others.
  • Experience in cash handling and management.
  • Ability to use office productivity software and spreadsheets.
  • Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, including opening and closing shifts, to meet the needs of the facilities. Must be able to respond to the facilities 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to handle emergencies when needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with partners, owners, and employees regarding operations or personnel issues to ensure the smooth operation of the facilities.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis including monthly/weekly goals and daily tasks to achieve desired results.
  • Must be able to cope with difficult situations and deadlines with an understanding of changing priorities, sense of urgency, execution of results and support for the team.
  • Ability to operate with high integrity, be productive under high pressure, hands-on when needed, and achieve a work-life balance that ensures long-term success.
