The Shilo Inn Newport is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone who has exception customer service along with strong leadership skills. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership and ensuring productivity of his/her team
  • Ensure outstanding customer care at all times
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised and maintain high standards while being sensitive to time deadlines
  • Supervise daily shift process ensuring all team members adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Train, direct the work of, resolve issues/problems and coach and counsel the front desk team members to ensure quality operation
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks, equally divide workload and work harmoniously with all team members
  • Act as manager on duty when manager is away from property or when assigned.  Work schedule that differs from managers to insure management coverage as necessary.
  • Assist with auditing company records and monitoring completion of end-of-month reporting.
  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring that all policies and procedures, federal, state, and local ordinances regarding personnel, security, cash handling, guest relations and safety are followed.
  • Ensure guest privacy is respected and confidential

The minimum qualifications for the Assistant General Manager position are:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • Ability to move perform frequent and repetitive movements, including bending and stooping
  • Review public areas and 5% to 10% of available rooms daily to ensure Shilo standards for guest safety cleanliness and operation are met.
  • Ability to be on call
  • Must be organized and be able to perform multiple tasks at one time
  • Provide on-going training to help and develop your team
