Job Description

Responsibilities
• Assist the Retail Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers
• Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g. sales processes, writing replenishment orders, ringing merchandise and receiving payments)
• Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
• Monitor and maintain store inventory
• Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
• Supervise and motivate staff to perform their best
• Coach and support new and existing Sales Associates
• Monitor retail operating costs, budgets and resources
• Suggest sales training programs and techniques
• Communicate with clients and evaluate their needs
• Analyze consumer behavior and adjust product positioning
• Handle complaints from customers
• Analyze and interpret retail data
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the store is functional and presentable
• Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
• Act as our store’s representative and set an example for our staff

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position
• Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
• Good math skills with the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
• Leadership and organizational abilities
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem-solving attitude
• Flexibility to work in shifts

Company Description

Alpine Village, formed in 1968 in Torrance California, is a retail and entertainment center built around a European theme. It consists of several business units including:

· A grocery market selling award winning meat products, award winning bakery products, imported dry goods and alcohol, and a European style café
· A restaurant serving traditional European meals augmented by American favorites, a full bar including many microbrews, and serves as an entertainment center/night club in the evening hosting concerts and dance events.
· A swap meet that operates 6 days a week
· Retail stores primarily focused on European goods
· An annual Oktoberfest that operates for approximately 8 weeks and is ranked among the nation’s top Oktoberfests.
