General Manager

Position requires a senior level manufacturing professional who has had P&L responsibility and a solid background in leadership roles. Demonstrated leadership skills are an absolute must along with a stable work history that shows a continuous level of progression. This position has six direct reports and requires the ability to develop department heads to be ready to assume increased responsibilities in the future. A metalworking background is preferred but not an absolute necessity. A four-yeardegree is required and an advanced degree is clearly an advantage. Excellent verbal and written skills are requisites. The person in this role will have heavy customer interface and understand the importance of developing a winning business strategy around a central idea that meets customer demands. Will be the key person in leading the strategy deployment process within the business. Must be capable of and comfortable with developing a culture that promotes involvement, communication, expectations and accountability, and a passion for excellence. Should have solid experience with and embrace the principles of lean manufacturing and the employment of six-sigma methodologies. Should have a minimum of 15-20 years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience. Position is with a national manufacturer and reports to an officer of the company. The company offers an attractive compensation package, including the potential to earn a 30% annual bonus. Relocation assistance will be provided. Plant size approaches 200 employees.
