Overview

The Loss Prevention Manager implements and maintains the Loss Prevention programs for 30+ restaurants at the Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW). In addition, the Loss Prevention Managers maintain acceptable levels of inventory shortage, unit system accuracy, cash shortage and risk management costs through effective leadership of the assigned location. As an exempt Manager, the Loss Prevention Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills enabling them to develop partnerships with management and associates allowing for heightened awareness to shortage causing issues. The position is located in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all internal and external investigations are completed in a manner that complies with all corporate and legal standards.
  • Effectively and professionally deals with law enforcement personnel, court systems, and customers. Appears as a representative of the company in various legal proceedings.
  • Effective business partnership with Management, Regional Field staff and support center personnel to achieve identified organizational goals.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of Loss Prevention, safety, food safety, OSHA and environmental programs.
  • Ensures implementation and compliance in assigned location through safety reviews and food safety inspections.
  • Ensures the proper operation and repair of all CCTV equipment.
  • Ensures accurate and timely report writing, record keeping and retention of evidence as required.
  • Educates and motivates team members to achieve loss prevention goals in employee and guest safety incident reduction and liabilities.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of results and assists in the development and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Demonstrates leadership by identifying and communicating potential ethical or safety issues that must be addressed at a higher level.
  • Manages and ensures reporting of critical incidents in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensures follow-up on required inventories and audits in order to control costs and shortage.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • High ethical standards.
  • A minimum of two years loss prevention experience as a multi-unit LP Manager.
  • Strong business skills and acumen.
  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid Certification for interview and interrogation.
  • Word and Excel knowledge is required.
  • Skilled at managing conflict situations effectively.
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with all levels of the organization and the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Proven history of successfully working in a fast paced environment, skilled at multi-tasking. Ability to work effectively in high pressure situation.
  • Must be a self-starter, hands-on and energetic capable to manage high volume requisition workload. Ability to work independently and meet required deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to travel as required (15%).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time each day while performing essential job functions
  • Bi-lingual is a plus, with Spanish preferred.
