ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER


Responsible for requesting/writing RFI's, processing submittals, writing/reviewing scopes of work, change orders and scheduling using PM software.

Job Description:

*Participate in the preconstruction phase of assigned projects, including attending design meetings and preparation of bid scopes and preliminary preconstruction and construction schedules.
*Perform project administration from construction start through project completion as directed by the project manager on assigned projects.
*Fully understand contract scope and ensures subcontract scopes are fully aligned with the Contract scope of work.
*Maintain a positive working environment for the entire site team.
*Maintain professionalism and integrity in all contacts and dealings.
*Promote a positive company image through professional and fair business relationships and community service.

Work Environment

Large General Contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for their Office in the Greater Howard County, MD area.

This candidate will perform project management duties as assigned and for the timely, safe, and profitable completion of all assigned tasks/projects in accordance with contract requirements and the Company's policies and standards of integrity and excellence.

The Assistant Project Manager reports directly to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager assigned to the project.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate is required to have experience with change orders, RFI's, Scheduling, Submittals and Scopes of work.

4 year degree in engineering or construction management related field is preferred, but not required.

2-5 years of experience in commercial construction required as an assistant superintendent, site manager, field engineer, project engineer or assistant project manager.

Ground up construction project experience preferred, but not required.

Must have experience with construction project management software, preferably primavera.
