CLIA Lab Technician - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description: General Description:
The Testing Personnel will work with the General and Technical Supervisors to ensure the success of department goals and efforts. The Testing Personnel will be required to be proactive to complete tasks and assignments given; if an issue or problem arises, they are expected to report to the General Supervisor. The Testing Personnel will also diligently and routinely participate in laboratory cleaning according to established SOPs. Additionally, troubleshooting and the ability to use logic to find solutions to problems are important.

The functions of the Testing Personnel will be performed under supervision and is expected to complete assigned duties in a timely manner and with acceptable quality.


Essential Functions:
* The Testing Personnel will be responsible for sample accession, sample testing, and sample reporting.
* The Testing Personnel will be responsible for performing routine proficiency testing.
* The Testing Personnel are required to perform operational qualification on the instruments.
* The Testing Personnel must follow all lab policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
* Real-Time PCR Experience
* Effective communication (both orally and in writing) and excellent listening skills are necessary
* Ability to compose effective and efficient reports and correspondence
* Highly organized and detailed oriented
* Self-starter; takes initiative; prioritize work in order to meet required deadlines
* Highly motivated individual capable of working independently, as well as in a team environment.
* Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
* 1 year CLIA Laboratory Experience OR Graduated from a Clinical Laboratory Training Program and has a certificate (MLT) Work Environment: CLIA testing lab Qualifications: * Bachelor Level Degree in a scientific discipline from an accredited institution
* 1 year of experience working in a CLIA lab OR an MLT certification
