We are seeking a dynamic and creative Trainer/Consultant to provide on-going education for our CAREGivers® and to consult with our Care Coordinators on medically related client issues.

The Trainer/Consultant will evaluate, develop, and update training materials, as well as provide the presentation of trainings. Training topics include personal care, dementia, hospice, Parkinson's, Arthritis, COPD, Diabetes, as well as other topics that may be requested by CAREGivers®.    This position will also work with the Engagement Coordinator to plan education workshops and in-services to insure that our CAREGivers® are highly trained, employ best practices, and remain current.  This position is also responsible for consulting to the Team on medially related issues.  This position requires a high level of communication.  This is a part-time position with flexible hours, including some weekend and evening commitments.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and update training materials as needed
  • Conduct actual trainings throughout the month, to include specific pieces of new hire orientation
  • Consult to the Team on medically involved clients and their changing conditions
  • Consult to Home Care Consultant on quality assurance needs as they relate to medical issues
  • Provide a liaison between the Team and other medical professionals
  • Participate in Home Instead Senior Care® sponsored community events
  • Ability to problem-solve within a Team
Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner
  • 5+ years experience in a clinical nursing setting
  • Experience with Elder Care or Gerontology preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication necessary
  • Some experience as a trainer, preferred
  • Experience with in-home care, preferred
