About this job

A technology company based in Laguna Niguel is seeking 5 Temporary Assemblers to start right away for their Fiber Optic Connectors and Cable Assemblies. Some small part assembly experience preferred and training will be provided. The scope of this position involves measuring and cutting a large quantity of fiber optic cables, Stripping the cables, precision assembly of optical components, polishing (hand and/or machine),and testing.

The hours are Monday through Friday, 4 PM to 12 AM Midnight. This is a temporary position expected to last for 2 weeks. If you prove yourself as a quality assembler with the necessary skillset there is a good chance this can turn into a temp-to-hire opportunity for the company's first shift (7:30AM - 4PM) or possibly 2nd Shift.

General Responsibilities:
  • Assemble cable products with attention to detail
  • Precise handling of very small parts
  • Use hand tools and electronic/pneumatic tools
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and safe
  • Comply with all safety recommendations and requirements
Requirements:
  • Previous experience with fiber optics or cable assembly is desirable, but is not required
  • Experience assembling products requiring delicate/precise handwork and assembly is highly preferred
  • Working experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Ability to handle delicate components with extreme care
  • Preference will be given to those who can assemble or sub-assemble products according to written or oral instructions, or by following drawings or diagrams
  • Excellent manual dexterity
  • Ability to read/comprehend, write, and communicate orally in English
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
  • Dependability is extremely important in this position
  • Ability to do multiple jobs based on direction provided by supervisor
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
  • A flexible, proactive, "can-do" attitude
