Job Description

Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate employees engaged in the batching and processing phase of manufacturing, to ensure all products are to customer’s specifications, government regulations, and company standards. Will insure that employees have the required competencies to practice policies and procedures affecting legality, safety, and quality.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

    • Direct and coordinate employees engaged in the batching and processing phase of manufacturing to ensure all products are to customer’s specifications, government regulations, and company standards
    • Confer with other supervisors and/or leads to coordinate operations within and between shifts
    • Enforce company policies, safety procedures and GMP’s
    • Respond to emergency situations with speed, accuracy and knowledge in order to minimize downtime
    • Review and complete PBR’s, MBR’s and other related documentation such as cleaning, production and tracking logs in a timely manner
    • Lead the roll out of new Daily Management Systems as needed in the department
    • Excellent ability to coach and empower employees and to create Glanbia Nutritional’s next leaders.
    • Coach team members to evolve DMS (Daily management System) to excellence

Additional Functions

    • Submit administrative paperwork in a timely manner (i.e. HR forms, payroll, COS, etc.)
    • Responsible for reviewing and approving of employee time records on a bi-weekly basis
    • Effectively motivate and evaluate employees in growth and development to achieve plant goals using Glanbia Nutritional’s values
    • Ensure batching and processing personnel participate and attend scheduled training classes and assign employees to appropriate and efficient training
    • Confer with management or subordinates to resolve employee problems, complaints, or grievances
    • Ensure customer materials are handled properly (i.e. storage, identification and documentation)

Supervisory Responsibilities

    • interviewing, selecting, and training employees;
    • setting hours of work;
    • maintaining production records
    • appraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employees;
    • determining work techniques;
    • planning the work;
    • apportioning work among employees;
    • determining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or materials needed;
    • monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance; providing for safety and security of the workplace.

 

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and work experience

Experience Required:

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing
    • Minimum of 2 year of supervisor experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Language, Computer & Numeracy:

    • Basic knowledge on MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs

Travel Requirements

    • Less than 10%
