DESCRIPTION
The Senior Bridge Engineer will work on complex bridge projects and develop innovative,practical solutions to various bridge design work. In this role you will perform design and analysis as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems and components in addiction to leading inspections teams.
The Senior Bridge Engineer will work on complex bridge projects and develop innovative,practical solutions to various bridge design work. In this role you will perform design and analysis as well as other structural engineering tasks for bridge systems and components in addiction to leading inspections teams.
- You will perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations using Midas, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating, STAAD, and other similar software tools
- You will develop structural details and construction plans using Microstation or AutoCAD
- You will assist and check design calculations performed by others
- You will prepare geometric layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations
- You will perform bridge and other structure condition inspections and prepare inspection reports
- You will establish and maintain corporate relationships with all employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- You’ll need a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis, or equivalent work experience; and a minimum of 6-8 years of experience.
- Naturally, you’ll need computer skills (Microsoft Office), along with industry standard bridge design and analysis software. Some Microstation and AutoCAD experience.
- Familiar with structural design software and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
- Hold a Massachusetts Professional Engineer (PE) License, or the ability to obtain a Massachusetts license within six months through reciprocity
- NHI Tunnel Safety Inspection Certification is desired, but not required.
- Familiar with MassDOT/ConnDOT standards for design, plan development and ratings is desired, but not required
