So what does a Bridge Engineer at Michael Baker International do?

The successful candidate will help to make a difference in our Eastern Pennsylvania business, which includes work for our Fort Washington, Philadelphia, and Allentown offices. Bridge design, inspection, and maintenance is a core strength of Michael Baker International. We have an established presence with work throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania for a variety of clients including PennDOT, the City of Philadelphia, as well as local Counties and Townships. This is an opportunity to join a talented group of individuals to help deliver some of the Region’s most important projects. In addition, Michael Baker offers the ability for employees to work on signature projects throughout the country through our established and successful work sharing program.

Can you walk me through a typical day of a Bridge Engineer?

The successful candidate will serve as the Structures Task Lead on local highway and bridge projects. They will also provide direction to junior level staff and guide a project from design through completion. They will have the opportunity to help grow our local bridge inspection capabilities. By providing assistance and expertise they will become part of a larger bridge group network throughout Michael Baker that will open up various pathways for professional and career growth.

Could you be the Bridge Engineer we are looking for?

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

· P.E. registration in Pennsylvania

· 6-8 years of related experience

· Familiarity with PennDOT project processes and standards

Other preferred skills include:

· 8 years of experience

· PennDOT Bridge Inspection Certificate

· MicroStation experience
