BRIDGE PRACTICE

DESCRIPTION
As part of our Structural Engineering Design Team, you will primarily provide planning, design, and construction support for a variety of projects related to the design of bridge, building and retaining wall structures. You will provide input to the preparation of construction drawings and specifications. You will build and maintain important relationships with customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

•The majority of your day would be spent contributing to the design effort on one or more projects.
•Prepare complex studies, calculations, reports, and other supporting documentation.
•Supervise the preparation of construction drawings related to new and existing structures.
•Clearly convey information to internal and external clients.
•Assist in the development of scope of work statements and person-hour estimates.
•Assist with defining scope of work and man-hour requirements.
•Contribute as a discipline lead or as a deputy project manager, as needed
•Travel occasionally, as required.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•You’ll need a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (with Structural Emphasis) from an accredited four-year college or university with a minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 4 years’ experience as a licensed Professional Engineer. A Master’s degree may be substituted for up to 1 year of experience.
•You’ll need to be registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado or have the ability to be licensed within 6 months of hire.
•You should have excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.
•You’ll need to be outgoing, organized, assertive and collaborative. You’ll also need to be able to network and build relationships with a wide variety of people.
•Naturally, you’ll need computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite.
•You’ll need to be a motivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting established deadlines.
•It would be a plus if you have experience in any of the following software packages: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Microstation (OpenBridge, OpenRoads, InRoads) STAAD.Pro, RISA-3D, Midas FEA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, L-Pile, SP-Columnand/or Mathcad.
•It would be a plus if you have experience with technical writing for business development opportunities
•It would be a plus if you have experience with project controls and/or management and a desire to utilize those skills and build upon them as a discipline lead or project manager
