The Washington House Hotel and Restaurant, along with Sellersville Theater 1894, is seeking a talented executive chef to lead our staff in a high volume, positive working environment. Our 200 seat restaurant serves Contemporary American cuisine in a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere. Our kitchen also serves the needs of national and international performers at Sellersville Theater and caters to our sponsors at private events. Our 11 room boutique hotel is highly rated on TripAdvisor and often hosts celebrations with catering for locals and out of town guests alike. Our mission statement declares: we “provide true hospitality by treating our guests, our performers and each other with warmth, sincerity and respect.” It is the chef’s job to embody this mission by example and by training his/her staff to work together with the front of the house, theater and hotel staff to prepare and serve delicious, interesting and appetizing food in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities:

Menu development:

• Collaborate with owners and sous chefs to update regular menus seasonally, and holiday menus yearly

• Supervise daily specials to efficiently use product in-house to make interesting, appealing food

• Write recipes and make sure they are followed by all staff

• Maintain gross food cost of 34% or better

Leadership:

• Train staff in proper food preparation, production, and safety

• Supervise ordering, food receiving, preparation, and production, implement and monitor food safety and sanitation practices

• Be a positive liaison between dining room, hotel, theater and kitchen
