The Electric Materials Company is a leading and diverse supplier of copper and copper alloy products contained within our 400,000+ square foot manufacturing facility. We are searching for a Quality & Continuous Improvement Supervisor. This position is a highly visible role in driving achievement of Quality Objectives, Continuous Improvement and implementing best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead continuous improvement projects (including Kaizen Events), as well as mentoring and coaching employees on continuous improvement;

• Direct supervision of hourly Quality Department personnel;

• Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices;

• Team member for the “hands on” implementation of Syteline QCS module;

• Support and facilitate structured measures with the use of problem solving methods and implementing permanent corrective actions;

• Help maintain and grow the culture and business while striving for Operational Excellence in product, process quality and reliability.

• Assist with quality system document control;

Competencies:

• Exceptional planning and organizing skills;

• Strong written and verbal communication skills;

• Capable of working with all levels and disciplines of the organization;

• Excellent teamwork skills;

• Able to work with ERP system (Syteline) to gather data;

• Must be hands on and able to multitask.

Education

• BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;

• Six Sigma Green Belt; Black Belt a plus;

• Training in Lean Manufacturing/Toyota Production System a plus.

Experience:

• 5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment;

• 3 years minimum experience implementing lean manufacturing and leading kaizen events.
