Job Description Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and executing marketing initiatives for the entire property. Provide additional assistance with public relations as directed by the Director of Sales and Marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Thorough understanding of the integrated platforms, applications processes for effective hotel marketing.
  • Minimum 2 years proven experience in similar position within the hotel industry.
  • College Degree preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of illustrator, HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, inDesign, website management, E-Business Development, SEO and PPC
  • Must be able to analyze data and communicate effectively with peers and superiors in a positive manner.
  • Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to vendors needs.
  • Strong organizational skills

    Essential Functions:

Manage the property’s web site.

Work with property departments to ensure web sections are accurate, current and effective. 

Ensure Internet Special and other promotions are optimized for maximum sales.

Work with agencies to ensure the web site is optimized for search engine returns and PPC ads are providing maximum ROI.

Conduct audit of website and URLs to ensure promotion dates are accurate

Maintain listings and expirations of URL’s

Manage online gift certificate program

Execute agreed upon direct marketing campaigns.

Create and implement local e-mail campaigns consisting of the list pulling, HTML creation/loading of 3rd party HTML, deployment and tracking of results.

Create and implement holiday event promotions in the form of local advertisements, point of sale, e-mail deployment, landing page, and tracking results of each initiative.

Coordinate with agency on execution of primary direct marketing initiatives.

Updated lobby posters and in room point of sale

Coordinate advertising campaigns as outlined in the media plan

Facilitate the tracking and reporting of all marketing expenditures. 

Develop and Monitor ROI for all electronic campaigns

Manage monthly budget expenses and ensure invoices are processed

Manage assignment and tracking of URL’s and sales marketing phone numbers

Facilitate social media web sites and campaigns.

Create/manage social media web sites including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn etc. Update with activities

Continually think of new ways to build followers/fans on social media sites to maximize viewership

Serve as editor of property’s blog.

Oversee hotel’s databases:

Supervise the managing of the Delphi database on an ongoing basis to meet the business requirements of the property, to reflect and track unique property characteristics, and to support company-wide database standards, working closely with department directors and Benchmark’s Marketing Enterprise Services Manager.

Coordinate all deployments with the HMA team

Monitor opportunities for new list acquisitions for social and group

Attend marketing bi-weekly meetings with Golf, Spa, Catering and F&B department heads

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Benchmark from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

Assist the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files.

Participate in the sales/catering department reader board program.
