Product (What We Do)
- Ensure products are prepared with a consistent, high quality outcome by following Wegmans core recipes & cooking techniques and educating team members on these practices
- Maintain the overall appearance of the department, ensure products levels are sustained and food is well-merchandised to showcase quality and drive sales
- Follow proper recipes and cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to showcase high standards of quality and guests receive a meal they can’t receive elsewhere
- Ensure all employees are properly handling products, using equipment, and taking accurate logs in accordance with food safety and safety guidelines
Results (What We Measure)
- Familiarize self with products in inventory and seek to reduce waste by working across Prepared Foods departments to find ways to utilize shrink
- Reduce accidents by promoting simplification principles, keeping work environments clean and organized to maximize efficiency and workplace safety
- Utilize resources such as WISE and MORIS to make effective business decisions
- Seek out additional tasks and responsibilities when appropriate
- Assist Sous Chef in running the kitchen and manage employees by performing tasks essential to the proper functioning of the department, ordering and overseeing the operations in the absence of a Sous Chef
Work Environment
- Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment. Work involves exposure to various work environments, including temperature changes. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction)
- Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit. Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelors
- Experience working as a Cook II and/or Cook III/line cook
- Experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility, including restaurant, hotel, country club, conference center, casino, theme park, etc.
- Managerial/supervisory experience
