Oversee the clubhouse and dining experience at the Vail Mountain Club, with responsibilities in both the front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • A hands on position which not only requires supervising staff, but serving, bartending, prepping, cooking, cleaning, and assisting as needed
  • Bartend and assist members as needed
  • Oversee the preparation and service of daily continental breakfast, daily lunch program, weekly wine and cheese, afternoon Après ski events and other miscellaneous events as needed
  • Assist Management in planning, organizing and implementing all menus and service for meals and events
  • Serve, bartend, bus and interact with members to ensure prompt and courteous service
  • Maintain par levels of all food, liquor, kitchen supplies and ware washing supplies and alert Management when running low
  • Responsible for all areas of kitchen sanitation and cleanliness including, but not limited to trash removal and recycling program
  • Directly supervise kitchen staff and holiday help
  • Assist Management with weekly Wine and Cheese events by preparing food plates, as well as maintain plates during service and serving wine
  • Assist Management and effectively train staff to put away all orders received, as well as stock properly and efficiently on a daily basis
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to assist management in other areas as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all members
  • Must understand that this position requires leadership skills and the ability to train current and new staff, as well as provide intermittent training as needed
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must understand how to interact with members on a social level
  • Must know how to walk away from distraction
  • Must be able to work unsupervised and is self-motivated
  • Required to have a neat appearance to include clean, pressed attire for work
  • Required to show employees the proper way to arrive and leave work meaning clean, sanitary, and presentable, attitude, work ethic, etc.

Schedule: Flexible schedule required. 5 days a week /40+ hours a week. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings. Must be able to work some overtime if needed. On holidays, 6-7 day work week may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Previous culinary experience (line and/or prep) preferred
  • Club experience preferred
  • College education or culinary degree preferred
  • Flexible hours including weekends and holidays required
  • Well organized and well spoken
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to reasonably and rationally handle guest complaints and questions
