A Qualified Linux Administrator with have the following:

  • Bachelors degree in related field or 5+ years experience required.
  • 5+ years experience working with Linux and VMWare and scripting in Bash or Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of Apache, HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, Varnish, NFS, Linux and other open source software.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis as assigned
  • Experience the following: Splunk, Zenoss, PagerDuty, New Relic, SaltStack, vCenter and administering virtulized servers, Atlassian based software (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence), H/A (High Availability) services.
  • Moderate experience in: CentOS 7 and Ubuntu 14.04/16.04

 

The Systems Administrator is responsible for day-to-day administration of all Information Systems and services in the enterprise. This includes but is not limited to analyzing, designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware, software, peripherals, and networks. Superior troubleshooting and technical support abilities with migrations, network connectivity, and security and database applications is critical. Customer service and the ability to develop exceptional relationships with co-workers, management, and end users is a top priority.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects all of operations of the SlingTV service.
  • Work as one of the teams Linux experts by assisting with administering mission-critical software such as databases and web application servers.
  • Python and Bash scripting along with Salt Stack configuration and management.
  • Monitor system logs and activities by participating in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation.
  • Assist with security audit and compliance tasks.
  • Document architecture and essential function methodologies by methodical troubleshooting, clear communications, and attention to detail.
