A successful Associate Corporate Counsel will have the following:

• Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university 
• Licensed attorney with a J.D. from an accredited law school
• Law school class rank in the top 33%
• Outstanding attention to detail
• Excellent communication, organization and multi-tasking skills
• Experience in drafting legal documents
• Familiarity with and an interest in learning about and documenting technology requirements

DISH Network is recruiting a transactional attorney who is passionate about our business and interested in working closely with our business teams to change the way the world watches television. The attorney will be part of a 10-lawyer group that supports DISH’s and Sling’s programming business. The primary responsibilities for the position are to review, negotiate and draft license agreements to distribute cable network programming (such as ESPN), local broadcast signals (such as CBS), premium programming (such as HBO), movie studio content (such as Warner Brothers) and other media content to DISH and Sling TV customers. Past candidates who had prior experience drafting software licenses, SEC disclosure statements or merger & acquisition agreements have done well in this position. Deal volume is high and from time-to-time long hours (including weekend hours) will be required. An understanding of the media industry and prior experience negotiating content distribution agreements are pluses but not a prerequisite.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

• Drafting and negotiating license agreements, programming agreements and other content acquisition agreements
• Reviewing and revising business documents
• Working closely with our business teams to accomplish Company goals
• Improving legal processes and procedures
• Assisting other responsibilities as needed
