Westlake, Ohio Company seeking Press Brake Operators

         First shift 7:00am to 3:00PM $15.00/hr

         Second shift 3:00PM to 11:00PM $15.50/hr

 

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic CNC controlled press brakes in a just-in-time fabrication shop with some assistance provided. This individual may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required. This is a cross functional position within the Fabrication department.

 

Responsibilities Include:

         Will be required to meet safety, quality and productivity goals for each job.

         Responsible to keep safety above all else when operating equipment.

         Keep work area, including machine surfaces clean and organized at all times.

         Prepare and run complex bend set ups and forming operations.  This includes custom punch/die modification used in combination with other tooling (either standard or custom).  Complex programming using all features of the Press Brake, such as but not limited to bending at angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps and delays.

         Must have a full understanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.

         Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout.

         Ability to train less experienced operators.

         Work with material handler to make sure material for each job is staged in proper locations for maximum efficiency.

         Work with management to identify areas of process improvement, cost and waste reduction.

         Efficiently set up and operate Rolling Machine to produce quality product in a safe manner.

         May be required to participate in training additional operators.

         Handle large sheets of aluminum skins without damage.

         Perform daily inspections prior to the start of each operating shift.

         Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as required.

 

Requirements Include:

         High school diploma or GED is required.

         2 years operating a Press Brake experience.

         Must be able to read a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, protractors, interpret tolerances and pay attention to detail.

         Familiar with modern manufacturing techniques and materials.

         Have knowledge of basic CNC control codes and the ability to review and edit.

         Ability and willingness to meet high-pressure deadlines.

         Good working knowledge of math and geometry.

         Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with other people.

         Basic computer skills.

         Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

         Must be able to work in standing/walking position in excess of eight hours a day.

         Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area.
