Overview

If you want hands on experience on the Information Technology (IT) team of one of largest off-price retailers in the nation, join the nationally-ranked Burlington Stores, Inc. internship program as an IT Intern! Are you entering your senior year as a full-time student pursuing your Bachelor’s degree? Do you have at least a 3.0 GPA? Are you interested in a career as a Network Engineer/Administrator or IT professional? Are you a self-motivated, team player, with strong planning, organizational and communication skills? If so, this may be the right opportunity for you!

As an IT intern, you’ll work out of our Florence, NJ corporate office and will have an opportunity to explore our Application Development and/or Infrastructure internship track. This won’t be your typical internship experience making copies and getting coffee! Throughout the comprehensive 10-week summer program, you’ll work side by side with industry leaders to gain practical knowledge and skills through your departmental assignment and a full understanding of what it’s like to be part of an IT team in the fun and fast-paced world of off-price retail! You and the other members of your summer intern class will receive a comprehensive orientation program to get your started on the right foot. You’ll be partnered with a current member of the IT team, who will serve as your “buddy” for support and guidance. Throughout the summer, you’ll participate in Leadership Development Seminars, Classroom-style trainings in areas related to your program, visits to market in NYC, tours of our stores and distribution centers, shadowing days where you can explore alternative career paths and learn about other key parts of the business, and community service projects – not to mention a variety of team-building social activities to help you get to know your intern class!

Upon graduation, many alumni of our internship program go on to join our team as full-time associates, either rejoining the team where they completed their internship program or in a different branch of the organization! We are a rapidly growing brand, providing a variety of professional development opportunities so our associates can grow with us.

Responsibilities:

• Support future technology for some aspect of the Retail Business (i.e. Point of Sale, Business Intelligence, Merchandising, Supply Chain, etc.)
• Learn about project management and the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Software testing support including defect reporting and test case execution
• Provide technical support to various parts of the organization
• Work with our IT and Customer Support Service Centers
• Support Corporate and Store Infrastructure
• Involvement in Network administration, Linux or Windows systems administration
• Work with IT Service Center
• Deploy IT related equipment to our retail locations
• Provide technical support to various parts of the organization

Candidates must be full-time students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or related field) with a GPA of 3.0 or above .
