About this job

Our high-earning legal client is looking for a Billing Coordinator to join their team on a direct hire basis. The office is located in the Seaport of Boston and focuses on real estate proceedings. The position will be paying between $53,000 - $57,000 based on prior experience.

Please read below for some key qualifications!

Qualifiers

  1. Ideally 5+ years' of billing experience (in any legal or consumer setting)
  2. Proven attention to detail with editing bills
  3. Proficiency with Rainmaker, Elite Pro Law or any other type of transferrable billing system
  4. Ability to stay motivated and take pride in a role
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to work with a director

The role is broken down into the following areas:

Bill Processing (60%)

  • Processes edits to pre-bills and/or draft bills in response to attorney and secretary requests
  • Processes and prints final client billing
  • Completes complex bills in a timely manner preparation of electronic bills).
  • Distributes monthly un-billed matter reports to billing attorney
  • Utilizes Rainmaker or Prolaw legal timekeeping software.

Accounts Payable (30%)

  • Review, input and process Firm and Client payables daily.
  • Assist Firm Controller in compiling accounts payable data for reporting.
  • Process and maintain petty cash requests, including actual cash handling and accounting.
  • General back-office accounting duties.

Accounts Receivable (5%)

  • Record payments to client accounts and maintain accounts receivable records.
  • Assist Director of Finance in compiling accounts receivable data for reporting.
  • Prepare daily cash and credit deposits.
  • Maintain client bank accounts, which includes recording of monthly interest gains.
  • Research client inquiries.

Client Matters (5%)

  • Create and open new matters in Firm database.
  • Create client contact information in Firm database.
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Billing experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or other professional services environment.
