About this job

-Chemistry/material science background

The lab assistant will be working with an engineer in support of their performance testing. He or she will be working with products including: new product development; incremental product development; sustaining product integrity; new or improved test development and data analysis through experiment design and research.

The main products being tested will have been powder coated within a paint laboratory.

In addition too:
- operate test equipment for coatings (physical, chemical, morphology, and durability tests)
- set-up, operate and maintain laboratory equipment for testing
- prepare powder coated panels through premixing, extrusion, milling, sieving, spraying, and curing
- test and analyze products to determine strengths and deficiencies
- documentation of analysis and tests
- write SOP's
- compile detail reports, results, and recommendations
- maintains chemical inventory
