Service Technician

The Field Service Technician position is a full-time, hourly position in the Service Department. Hours worked are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Primary Responsibilities

* To troubleshoot electro-mechanical problems, install, perform repairs and schedule maintenance on equipment based on customer demand and need. To provide complete customer satisfaction in a police and professional manner
Skills and Personal Characteristics of the Field Service Technician
* High school education and one to three years mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience in a similar environment or equivalent in college or vocational education
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management and co-workers
* Ability to read and interpret schematics
* Ability to read and understand necessary service and training manuals
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or demonstrated instructions
* Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer need
* Ability to effectively utilize volt, ohm and multi-meters
* Demonstrate good mechanical and electrical aptitude
* Ability to perform heavy physical work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 20 pounds constantly, performing such activities as climbing, balancing, stopping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping
* Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, pressers, forklift, hoists, overhead cranes and personal hand tools
* Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do so
* Such other knowledge, skills and abilities are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties

This is a contract to hire opportunity with a very reputable company in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Hourly pay increases after being hired permanently pending completion of required training courses.
