Software Developer - Full-time / Part-time

Our customer is seeking a Software Engineer responsible for integrating ISR platforms to manned and unmanned aircraft for their Navy airborne customer. You will contribute to a cross-functional group where software coding, firmware development, hardware design, system integration, system engineering, and testing all happen within the same team.

Responsibilities for this position include:

* Participation in full life cycle software development tasks utilizing primarily Java and C++ programming languages.
* Applications range from embedded, high-performance to web service and user interface development with candidates having the ability to specialize in a single domain or cross-train.
* Participate in requirements analysis, software design, coding, unit testing, integration, installation and maintenance
* Must be able to develop new ideas based on technical and domain experience.
* Must be able to operate in agile teams or work independently as needed to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities:
- Development 80%
- Unit Testing 10%
- Maintenance - 10%

Qualifications
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications:
* This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government
requires US Citizenship. (Clearance NOT required at time of hire)
* Strong fundamental experience with Java and C++ on a Linux O/S. Preferably having created
applications from scratch or modifications from scratch
* Strong fundamentals in OOP and Multi-Threading
* Experience with Documentation Systems (Configuration Management, GIT, etc)
* Prior experience with peer code reviews or at least be willing to go through peer code reviews
* Possess a solid foundation in computer science
* Demonstrated competencies in data structures and algorithms
* Genuine desire to develop software to solve unique problems
* Demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
* Collaborative teamwork skills

Desired Qualifications:
* Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree
* Software development in a Linux environment

Preferred Experience:
* Experience with Linux OS down to the Command Lines
* Experience working on Navy or Army programs
* Experience working in an Agile environment
