About this job

Located just north of Fort Wayne, IN, the chosen Electrical Engineer will be responsible for understanding machine functions in order to provide Programming and Engineering support for machine upgrades, installs, start-ups, and aid in the troubleshooting of machine communication issues. The primary software platform will be working with SLC 504. This position is project-based, so the chosen person must be able to work independently with little supervision/ direction. The position will be 70-80% adapting, integrating, and upgrading code/software on existing equipment while the other 20-30% is to support problem solving and troubleshooting efforts on PLC/HMI communication breakdowns and other equipment malfunctions. This person will use Rockwell Automation Software for design and development of both PLC's and HMI's (Pavel View, PanelTalk View, RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, SLC-500, etc.). First day expectations will be to hit the ground running with current projects and troubleshooting existing equipment within a fast paced environment. The chosen candidate needs to have the ability to work on a wide range of new and aged equipment as well as program various PLC & HMI platforms related to Rockwell Automation. This person will be measured on successful completion of projects and ability to work with engineering and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing 2-3+ projects simultaneously until completion date.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 2 year commitment

-5+ years' of experience with design/programming, development, integration, and deployment of PLC's and HMI's

-Reactive/ On-Call Plant support Controls Engineer with 5+ years' experience troubleshooting issues related to equipment malfunctions, connection issues, and other related down time issues (Will be doing this 20-30% of the time)

-Experience with equipment automation upgrades, start- ups and installations

-Ability to program and setup AC Drive Systems (DC Drives are a plus)

-Associates Degree
