About this job

Position: R&D Chemist

The R&D Chemist is primary responsible for developing new and modify existing Thick Film products.

  • Conduct research activities supporting the design of new products or the modification of existing products for new applications
  • Report feedback on results with detailed analysis and recommendations to supervisor and/or team
  • Perform basic functions such as batching, milling, printing, and testing of products
  • Operate basic laboratory processes and equipment in order to conduct routine tests on products
  • Perform intermediate troubleshooting or analysis; problems require interpretation of data using generally prescribed procedures
  • Analyze technical data, assist in planning, coordination, and problem-solving in the execution of projects
  • Analyze problems or customer complaints regarding existing products and assist with formula or process changes for new applications
  • Maintain and upgrade laboratory testing equipment, with approval, for product and process development
  • Attend technical conferences, trade shows, and educational courses to remain current in the field as it relates to existing and future technologies; ability to present at same

Qualifications:

  • Must have Bachelors degree in Materials Science or Inorganic Chemistry or Chemistry
  • Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of industry experience
  • Experience with glass science, powders, or thick-film is highly preferred
  • Self-starter with attention to detail is required
  • Knowledge of precious metals is preferred
