Tax Preparer / Bookkeeper - Tallmadge OH - Part Time $13.00/per hour or more, Based on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY

The tax preparer, bookkeeper and financial services professional serves business clients in managing their taxes, providing expert business consulting services, payroll services, investment services and other financial advice. The tax preparer, bookkeeper and financial services professional must have a strong work ethic, be very customer focused, have experience in tax preparation, QuickBooks experience, and some knowledge or experience in investments or financial asset management. Confidentiality, excellent organizational skills and accuracy are important qualifications for this position, as well as good customer relations and the ability to communicate clearly. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled multi-tasker, is reliable and is committed to consistently meeting deadlines.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Advise clients in the tax preparation process and prepare and file tax documents
  • Take incoming calls from clients to answer tax questions and set up tax preparation appointments
  • Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling
  • Grow the business by promoting our services and expanding our client base
  • Attend to the needs of clients to ensure the client continues to engage with the company
  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers for clients
  • Match purchase orders with invoices
  • Coordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to clients
  • Monitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receipts
  • Review vendor invoices and track bank account balances
  • Develop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheets
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxes
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be a team player willing to learn and work in a group setting
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly and consultative with clients
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable mathematics skills
  • Expert knowledge of QuickBooks or similar Intuit software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs required
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operation
  • Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes
  • Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computation
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Tax preparation for Partnerships is a Plus, but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:
  • Position may require person to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours, constantly performing repetitive motions to use a personal computer and other office equipment, as well as walking around an office and industrial environment on a frequent basis.
