PrideStaff, a recruiting firm specializing in staffing for Central Oregon businesses, is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for a well-established precision machine shop in Bend. The successful candidate for this position will have 5-10 years of setting up and operating CNC mills and Lathes. This is a full-time position working Monday – Thursday 2 nd shift 03:00pm-01:30am with the opportunity for overtime as needed. Health Benefits, Paid time off and Dental Insurance available after probationary period! Starting pay is $20-25 per hour DOE!

Job duties may include:
  • Responsible for the set up and operation of various manual machines
  • Manufacturing of high tolerance complex parts per drawing specifications
  • Excellent Mechanical Aptitude
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot to develop new products
  • Perform all tool set up and maintenance of cutting tools
  • Edit part programs and maintain part quality and tool life
  • Ensure production rates are met and exceeded.
  • Studies and interprets drawings, manuals, specifications, sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
  • Communicate with management regarding process improvement, fixture design and cutting tool selection
  • Preventive machine maintenance
  • Responsible for keeping equipment and work are clean, orderly, and perform basic preventative
    maintenance functions on equipment
  • General shop housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements: The ideal candidate maintains the following skills and characteristics:
  • 5 -10 years minimum experience with Machine operations
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of Geometric tolerances and high tolerance machining
  • Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and oral as well as problem-solving skills
  • Experience performing full set-ups, program edits, and holding tolerances as tight as +/-.0005
  • Ability to communicate application status

  • Recent and relevant work experience
  • Team player
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Supervision: This position has direct supervision. The employee will meet periodically as needed with their supervisor to go over pertinent goals and assignments.

Basic Working Conditions: The employee must have their own method of dependable transportation and work full time during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Overtime and work on weekends may be needed. The employee must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
