Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an opening for a Financial Analyst / Accountant on the Finance team at their Bend, OR location.

The Financial Analyst/Accountant will perform a variety of tasks in one or more areas of finance in support of operations and controllership. Initially, the accounting aspect of this position will encompass approximately 60% of the daily/monthly responsibilities. The role may be involved with financial analysis and reporting for use in corporate planning, developing, and tracking of budgets and the application of financial controls over time.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide monthly commentary on financial performance and key business indictors for the upcoming periods
  • Create monthly and ad hoc reporting including relevant comparisons and trend analysis
  • Manage capital and fixed asset investments
  • Participate in month end close to include various areas of reporting and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Develop and prepare customer and product profitability analysis
  • Partner with Operations to develop appropriate standard product costs
  • Daily tracking/oversight of cash levels
  • Review and streamline accounting processes as needed
  • Maintain the appropriate environment of internal financial controls to ensure that the financial statements are free from material errors
  • Support external audit requests
  • Complete other tasks within the accounting department as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5-10 years in accounting environment, with experience in general ledger production, month end closing processes, financial statement preparation and cost analysis
  • Experience with SOX, GAAP, IFRS highly desired
  • Familiarity with accounting/bookkeeping software; Experience using SAP a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Hands-on experience balancing and reconciling general ledger accounts
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members
