Job Description

Well established, customer-focused local retail leader in Home Improvement supply needs your sales and leadership expertise to contribute to the strategic development and success of this organization.  Self-confident, dynamic individual with retail sales, inventory control and customer service experience is required. Professional appearance, understanding of home improvement and related products, experience in retail billing, distribution, etc. and the ability to work closely with a diverse customer and employee population may qualify you for this position. Management experience required.  You will report directly to the Owner. 

 

You will be initially responsible for leading and directing the entire sales operation including inventory control and human resources issues.

 

Essential Functions:

 

·         Ability to establish trust, loyalty and respect with co-workers and owner

·         Achieve unit sales and gross profit targets

·         Direct and lead the Department Associates in the areas of scheduling, achieving corporate objectives, reduction of shrink and general human resource issues

·         Maintain and direct the sales/customer service and management processes and policies

·         Ability to work Weekends

·         Maintain a cost efficient inventory level

·         Build a team environment that ensures that the customer is number one.

                                                                              

Experience Desired:

 

·         At Least two years’ experience and broad knowledge of cabinets, flooring, countertops and related products/supplies

·         Demonstrated Leadership – Ability to lead by example and work with a Teamwork environment

·         Goal Oriented – will to be accountable for actions

·         Proven selling skills

·         Customer Interaction Skills – Recovery, complaints, professional follow-up

·         Training and Coaching Ability – Teach features and benefits of products

·         Ability to listen and comprehend

·         Ability to evaluate and counsel

·         Ability to work with a diverse work force

·         Organizational – Time Management – Focus

·         Sense of urgency comprehension

·         Ability to pass drivers license and background investigations.
