Casting Shift Supervisor - Full-time / Part-time

Directs and supervises efficient casting operations to obtain the maximum daily production of quality finished products at the lowest possible cost in accordance with order specifications and to meet production schedules on time. Requires that employees meet anticipated production levels in order to ensure lowest possible labor costs and the efficient and timely flow of materials.

Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan operations. Establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization. Works closely with maintenance and production scheduling to implement alternative courses of action in the event of equipment breakdowns or temporary shortages of material or manpower.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
