Job Description Summary:

Basic Function: Provide Hair, Nail & Make-Up Services for guests of Spa

Rate of Pay: Hourly plus SERVICE CHARGE

Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:  EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE

Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. 

Experience: Must have at least 1 year experience in the salon/spa industry.

Licenses or certificates: Illinois State License for Cosmetology required.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Must have full knowledge of Spa/Salon, guest relations and etiquette.
• Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and   communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to problem solve in the Manager’s absence.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of Spa menu items.
• Order supplies for the salon, professional and retail.
• Lead contact for all bridal parties.
• Maintain a clean work station at stylist station, front desk and storage room
• Keep work area clean, stocked and sanitized
• Keep Spa locker area clean and stocked
• Keep Tranquility room clean and presentable
• Keep supply room clean and organized
• Stock towels at fitness center when needed
• Remove used towels from spa locker rooms and fitness center

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform daily as a hair stylist greeting guests and working on guest’s hair.

Operate and troubleshoot all Manicure and Pedicure equipment

Perform all Hand and Feet Treatments per Spa protocol

Become knowledgeable of all treatments and products available at the Spa

Attend all department meetings

Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.

Clean station and storage room before and after every shift to maintain a healthy work environment.

Replenish water and fruit in Tranquility as needed.

Daily rounds of the facility, checking for towels, restocking robes and replenishing products in locker rooms.

Once a week put together orders for retail and professional products.

    

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

Perform Hair  & Nail Services.  Handle guest complaints and praises. Assist front desk with phone calls and scheduling.

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Benchmark from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

      Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

      Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Benchmark rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
