Represent the Mountain Operations department while managing and coordinating all on-mountain operations of weddings, social events, banquets and other group related functions held at Canyons Village and Communcate events at Park City Mountain Village.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Guide our guests and guides to Experiences of a Lifetime!
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed
  • Foster an environment that cultivates professionalism, high morale and teamwork
  • Use empathy, listening skills, negotiation, creativity and product knowledge to deliver an extraordinary guest experience and assure that operations are executed at an efficient level
  • Promptly and efficiently communicate event changes in empathetic and expeditious manner
  • Monitor the weather and make “the call” on whether an event will continue or be relocated by 1pm
  • Act as liaison between the mountain Guides and the Guests,  Outlet Manager, Conference Services Manager, or Event Planner on site.
  • Communicate details to the mountain event Guides. Be sure that the Guides understand the content in the BEO and/or Resume.
  • Oversee and monitor events as appropriate: handle special needs and resolve problems such as loading and unloading décor & supply deliveries, timelines for loading guests and wedding parties, equipment failure, etc
  • Organize and coordinate lift evacuation in the event of lift failure or weather related issues
  • Report any issues or concerns to Manager Mountain Dispatch and appropriate personnel
  • Be onsite for event setup, which may include handling personal details from client, or assisting the loading and unload of décor, supplies etc
  • Confer regularly with Mountain Dispatch Manager, Banquets, Food and Beverage, Group Sales, Conference Services, Mountain Guides and other departments to plan, coordinate and evaluate services, activities/events, exchange information and resolve issues relative to group functions
  • Attend the weekly Resume meetings and all Pre-Cons
  • Perform other tasks as assigned for Mountain Operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS   

  • Exposure to inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of relevant event and mountain operations experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of company personnel, as well as clients
  • Working knowledge and skills in events, management and/or Mountain Operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
