About this job
Avon, Ohio company has an opening for a CNC Vertical Lathe operator in their Production department.
$16.00 (+$.50/Hour shift premium)
Hours: 2nd shift 3:00pm-11:00pm; or 3rd shift 11:00pm 7:00am, Monday-Friday (Week begins Sunday night); candidate choice. Must be available to train on 1st shift
Temp-to-Hire potential
Upon hire, benefit package includes medical, prescription, dental & vision, short/long term disability & 401(k)
Duties include:
The primary function of this position is the efficient set-up, operation and troubleshooting of CNC machining centers
Sets up and operates numerically controlled (NC, CNC, PLC and other manual machines) lathes (horizontal & vertical) performing machining operations including: turning, boring and facing castings and forgings.
Selects and installs tooling into tool posts, turrets or indexing heads.
Mounts work piece in chuck, or faceplate, manually or using hoist or cranes.
Requirements include:
Previous machining experience (program edits, setups, blueprint, etc.)
Solid understanding and ability to use of shop math and precision (micrometers, precision dial gauges, etc.) measuring instruments.
Forklift experience required
Hoist/Crane experience required
G&M code experience preferred (able to make minor edits to programs)
Must be able to read, write, understand technical documentation,
Must be computer literate
Able to read process drawing (blueprints), and engineering specification.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Excellent attendance required
High School diploma /GED required.
Technical degree in manufacturing preferred.
Pre-employment testing required
