JOB SUMMARY
Preps surgery patients and surgical environment before operations; ensures supplies and dedicated devices are sterile and ready for surgery. Conducting sterile and unsterile supplies quality assurance checks, including leak test, bowie dick test, chemical integrators, according to sterilization principles before operation. Ensuring that all decontamination equipment, including washer decontaminators, sonic, cart washers, is free of any bio burden. Performing patient preparation for surgery by washing, shaving, transporting, positioning, and ensuring aseptic incision sites. Calibrating and maintaining both sterile and non-sterile equipment for optimal performance; making minor adjustments to avoid instrument malfunctions and keeping them in operating condition.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Part time, 40 hours every 2 weeks (fairly flexible scheduling).
QUALIFICATIONS
CPR certification every other year. Driver's license and auto insurance required. Minimum of graduate of a school of Surgical Technology or be a LPN/RN with on-the-job-training.
