Ready for an opportunity where you can apply your skills acquired in coursework into a real-world business setting? BISSELL is currently looking for a paid, undergraduate student to join our Information Technology Services (ITS) team!

 

The individual in this role will serve as a vital team member within the ITS function, reporting to the Senior Director, Information Services. The co-op student will perform a variety of day-to-day tasks, primarily related to mobile application development, technical design, development, maintenance and support of the company's mobile solutions, and technology analysis.

 

The co-op student will work closely with the core development and design teams developing the mobile app software and interfacing with the backend API's that support the front-end consumer components of the solution. Frontend development will target primarily Apple and Android OS using Cross-platform development environment (Xamarin), and developer will be responsible to understand common development practices for each operating system. The person may also be involved in the development to integrate and interface with several other components such as Internet of Things (IoT), CRM, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and BISSELL.com services.

 

CO-OP DUTIES: 

  • Development and programming support of the mobile applications designed to interface with devices, which includes both Android, iOS, and cross-platform (Xamarin) development.
  • Play a developer role in mobile app software design and software development. 
  • Evaluating, prototyping and integration of new and existing IoT solutions in relation to the mobile app.
  • Define unit and integration tests that can be applied to Quality Assurance Testing.
  • Monitor and track status of all assigned projects and activities and report progress to Manager of Business Application Systems Development & Support as requested. 
  • May assist in development of user training materials or conducting user training for new or existing systems.
