About this job

The Quality Assurance Technician is a member of the facility Quality Assurance Department, and gets functional direction from the Quality Assurance Manager. This position interacts with Legendary Baking plant management and crewmembers to help verify food quality and food safety.  This position monitors ingredients, work-in-process (WIP), and finished product to verify compliance with specifications.   In addition, the Quality Assurance Technician audits Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance, process control and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) records.

DETAILED ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.Verify food quality and safety through auditing and reporting.Product is evaluated for flavor, aroma, appearance, and compliance with specifications.

2. Assist in expediting quality assurance tasks by providing help in support of specific projects.

3. Provide training, as necessary, to facilitate food quality and safety, and compliance to specifications.Provide training to crewmembers on the proper disassembling, cleaning, and sanitizing of all plant food processing equipment.

4. Inspect Legendary Baking ingredients, packaging materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished product for compliance with specifications.

 

5.Identify, isolate and report poor quality or potentially unsafe food materials.

6.Conduct periodic sanitation audits, GMP inspections, and IDEXX testing of cleaned and sanitized equipment.

8. Collect, analyze and report data.Maintain quality assurance and HACCP data, as directed. Clearly document and communicate all findings.

9. Audit processes and procedures to ensure food quality and food safety.Verify compliance to Legendary Baking specifications, customer requirements and regulatory requirements.

 

10. Responsible for monitoring and following all food safety and quality procedures.

 

11. Responsible to follow security protocol and report any suspicious activity and/or security violations.

 

12. Aid operations in process troubling shooting when requested by management.

 

13. Verify consistency in the manufacture of Legendary Baking products.

 

SKILL OR SPECIALIZATION REQUIRED:

A high school education is required with aptitude in science and mathematics.  Must be able to successfully complete and become certified in a food service sanitation course. Must be computer literate. Must be able to work independently, and be multiple task oriented.  Must have the ability to interact positively with all employees.
