Warehouse Supervisor- 1st Shift

Starting Rate: $18.00-$20.00 DOE

**Overtime paid for all hours worked over 8 hours in a day**

Due to increased business needs, Legendary Baking, an innovative dessert manufacturer specializing in pie, cake, cheesecake and custom deserts is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to implement procedures for the handling of incoming ingredients and supplies and outgoing finished products to our distribution centers. S/he is the Warehouse team’s shift supervisor, directing and planning their day to day activities. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high degree of inventory accuracy by monitoring and accounting for all products shipped in and out of the bakery and planning and managing ingredients used by production. Ensure that sensitive ingredients used by production are available and in correct state for production use.   

DETAILED ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Implement procedures for the handling of incoming ingredients and supplies and outgoing finished products to our distribution centers. Monitor that all products received is in correct amounts ordered, are of high quality, and meet shelf life guidelines for product. 
  • Make certain that orders are shipped as scheduled. Ensure all warehouse loads are packed as accurately and as neatly as possible to maximize space and minimize delivery time and failures to ship of product
  • Incumbent has frequent communication with transportation contractors to ensure quantity, best rate and timelines of orders shipped to customers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of inventory accuracy
  • Ensure that ingredients are distributed to production timely and accurately that allowing maximum efficiency.
  • Works for effective utilization of warehouse layout and space allocation. Maintains a high degree of inventory accuracy by using scanners and SAP by tracking physical movement, location, usage, and incoming and outgoing of inventory. Uses SAP and scanners for material lookups
  • Incumbent is responsible for ensuring all warehouse workers follow establish SAP procedures and do required paper work in a timely basis.
  • Works to ensure Legendary Baking’s Vision Values and Culture is understood and followed by all employees starting with her/his behavior of leading by example. 
  • Maintains highest level of sanitation in warehouse. Monitors team’s compliance with all Legendary Baking, SQF, HACCP, AIB, Health Department policies and regulations. Monitors warehouse team completes required SQF paperwork for the warehouse area.
  • Provide a safe, harmonious, non- threatening work environment to his/her team members which promotes productivity and creativity through:
    1. Responsibility in ensuring good training and orientation programs are being followed when new employees join the company. Trains and certifies all warehouse crew on all lifts and power jack equipment.
    2. Scheduling and leading warehouse meetings, facilitate problem solving using creative and innovative ideas.
    3. Properly coaches team on daily task and recommends to manager when disciplinary action may be needed.
    4. Keeping warehouse crew informed of performance progress, employee schedules and following up an employee concerns. Moves forward all harassment concerns and serious employee misconduct to warehouse manager.
    5. Providing employee recognition with creative team awards in such a manner to promote morale and improve performance.
    6. Warehouse Supervisor helps interview new warehouse crew members and tours them through bakery during interview process. Supervisor can recommend hires to warehouse manager. 
    7. Monitors for a safe work environment in warehouse by enforcing, educating and coaching employees to follow Legendary Baking and OSHA safety standards and reporting any crew member who appears to be impaired working toward accident prevention.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in -10 to 40 degree areas for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work in 80-100 degree areas for short periods of time
  • Must be able to handle/touch frozen product/equipment
  • Reach at times above shoulder/below knee level
  • Lift/move 50 lbs. routinely
  • Life/move 80 lbs. occasionally
  • Read and write to make schedules, logs and regulations
  • Comprehend regulations by government agencies
  • Grasp/handle phone handset, receiver and base, pen and worksheets
  • Hear to answer questions
  • Sit/Stand/Walk
  • Use computer/write investigation and coach forms
