We are looking for innovation, engineers who can perform challenging, interesting and dynamic Mechanical Engineering work as a member of the BCA Airplane Systems Mechanical Systems Team which supports all Boeing models both in development and in airline service, including programs such as the 737MAX, the Presidential Airplane, the new generation 777X, and the next all new airplane.

Duties will include:

* Work to ensure world-class Mechanical and Environmental Control Systems by collaborating with other organizations such as Aerodynamics Performance and Stability & Control, Structures, Flight Deck Crew Operations, Pilots, Electrical Systems, Systems Stress, Customer Services & Airline Customers, Factory and Flight Line Operations, Supplier Management, Airplane Safety and many others.

* Support production and provides technical solutions, including involvement in factory build, and test and associated build troubleshooting.

* Conduct systems analysis and design using tools such as CATIA (CAD/CAM), Matlab / Simulink and FLOMASTER (performance and simulations).

* Contribute in design reviews and engage suppliers. Utilize project management tools to ensure project success and timeliness (e.g. scheduling, technical risk oversight, deliverables tracking).

* Define verification methods such as component, system-level, and participate in laboratory and airplane testing.

* Define data to enable certification of Boeing products with regulatory agencies (FAA, EASA, and other national agencies).

* Develop approaches in troubleshooting and resolution of in-service issues including field assessments.

* Support requirements development and define systems architecture. Work with aerospace system suppliers to ensure effective systems performance, integration, and to ensure customer satisfaction

Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation. Trains others. Works under general direction.

Qualifications

Preferred and Desired Experience:

* Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 7 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering or computer science, . ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

* The ideal candidate will have significant experience and demonstrate a strong ability to architect mechanical systems with electrical controls and varied power sources (electrical and pneumatic).

* The candidate will have a high level of analysis (mathematical modeling) and high-level systems architect skills.

* The candidate selected for this position will be a key technical resource in all areas of product design such as controls, thermodynamics, turbo machinery, thermal, structural, manufacturability, serviceability and reliability.

* The candidate must be well versed in core mechanical engineering design and analytical skills in order to affect system-level decisions and represent the team in cross-functional projects and decision making.

* The candidate must have good communication skills, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, fit well within a team and be willing to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

* Course work and experience in the areas of thermodynamics/thermal sciences is desired.

Job Requirements:

* A Bachelor's of Science Degree or higher in an engineering discipline or computer science is required.

* 5+ experience with mechanical system performance analysis (mathematical modeling) to support system architecture trades as well as Model-Based Design (MBD) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is required.

* This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
