Job Description:

________Electric is a regional electrical contractor. They have offices in SC, NC, and VA. Superintendents report to a Supervisor, or the person designated by the Supervisor and are responsible for the management of assigned jobs and/or work orders to ensure they are being performed in accordance with existing company policies and procedures. They are responsible for assisting in the achievement of their division's aims, goals and objectives while operating within company guidelines. Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the commercial electrical construction industry. Test the JD: Ideally _________is looking for 5 years Supervision experience. However they are willing to flex down to 3 years for the right person who has the right career goals in place. Best vs. Avg: Consistent work history and experience with the new commercial construction field. Able to commit to the QC plan and limit and mitigate re-work. Understands the construction process (Budget & Scheduling) with a GC & Owner.

Qualifications:

This individual needs to be comfortable being a leader. Able to manage different personalities and people. Able to feel comfortable in front of GC's, Owners, and field personnel. Expected to be the best electrician on the crew while managing a crew up to 12 people. The average project size is 2.5 Mil. Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and national and local codes. Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints, insuring that work is installed as required. Observe functions of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Repair faulty equipment or systems. Personnel responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Recommend or initiate personnel actions (promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures). Analyze and resolve work problems, and/or assist workers in solving work problems. May train new workers. Interpret company policies to workers. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assign duties. Monitor the work being performed and direct the crew. Complete required paperwork ( time sheets, safety reports, accident reports, etc.). Requisition, and inspect materials. May be required to do a re-estimate. Schedule the work according to the pace of the job and other trades. Dis-qualifiers: An individual with Choppy work history. An individual without a clear progression of their career. An individual who has a majority of IT or Low voltage work history. An individual who has been unemployed recently. Not being able to use technology is an immediate dis-qualifier. Must be comfortable using and learning new pieces of software. Watson currently uses Blue Beam. Ability to send email is not enough.

Performance Expectations:

Performance Metrics: First and foremost is can they perform the core function of a high level electrician. Second is can they effectively lead a team of electricians. Must be able to uphold company standards and abide by their guiding principles. Must be driven by productivity. Must be able to identify labor or schedule issues and communicate effectively with the _________team. Is this individual able to be and effective member of the pre-project planning team. Then is the individual able to understand the plan and follow the plan? First Day - Must be able to review project documents and plans. Identify where the project is in terms of staging and then understand where he/she needs to start. They must then be able to be part of the pre-project planning team. Must be able to dig into the job plan layout systems and branch systems.

Interview Information:

1 possibly 2 interviews. Will meet with (production manager) If they have further questions or need to dig deeper or revisit anything a second interview will be requested.
