Aerotek's client is an electronic defense company located at the Hagerstown Regional Airport in Hagerstown, MD. The company operates a MRO facility where they perform military ISR (Intelligence, Reconnaissance, & Surveillance) modifications to a variety of turboprop aircraft (C-12, Dash-8). Most of the work performed is based around installations & maintenance of systems on Dash-8 aircraft.
Job Description
-Repairs, maintains and installs systems used for aircraft navigation and radio communications, weather radar systems and other instruments and computers that control flight, engine and other primary functions.
-Perform inspections, make adjustments and repair, replace components, and correct any malfunction or deficiency with and without power applied to aircraft Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with applicable technical data, SOPs and FAA/JAA regulations
-Access, remove and re-install aircraft components including mechanical and electrical which obstruct their performance of assigned repair/replace tasks
-Assist with repairs on off-aircraft components such as switch panels, circuit breaker panels, and junction boxes
-Perform basic mechanical and electrical removals and installations
-Perform troubleshooting of all systems installed on the aircraft Document work performed
-Fabricate parts/wire harness and install per engineering drawings;
-Assist in troubleshooting off-aircraft components such as switch panels, circuit breaker panels, and junction boxes;
-Comply with all environmental health and safety policies and procedures
-Assist in updating and completion of work orders and operation details
-Assist with on-going maintenance tasks when avionics specific tasks are complete
-Analyzing and developing solutions to complex electronic problems.
Qualifications Needed:
- 8+ years of experience on aircraft, install, and troubleshooting experience
- Military experience is a plus
- Government contracting experience doing extensive MOD work is a plus
- Experience in a MRO facility preferred
- Turboprop experience is preferred
