Job Description:

  • Technical support of quality assurance, engineering, Manufacturing, and test effort.
  • Provide input to and participates in Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
  • Active team member contributing to design and project reviews internally and with customers.
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance with in-house processes/procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in outside inspection, analysis and other tests. ( i.e., hydrophone acoustic testing, component failure analysis, abd factory/site acceptance testing.(FAT/SAT)
  • Provide training for receiving and in-process inspection personnel
  • Generate Quality Program Plans and Quality Assurance Procedures
  • Develop Pricing and Delivery Costs Estimates, Dept ETCs and EACs Domestic and Internal Travel is required.

Work Environment:

  • Team of Quality Manager, 2 QEs, and Quality Inspector.
  • Travel will be required to East Coast - Two 5 week trips taken before February 2018. Part of the work will be done on a ship.
  • Overtime will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on problem solver with the ability to work both as an independent auditor performing source inspection and surveys at vendors locations and within a team of self-motivated employees, providing quality assurance monitoring during system design, material procurement, parts and system fabrication, integration, testing and installation at customer locations.
  • BSME, BSEE, BSIE
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in inspection/quality engineering in an aerospace or equivalent type manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in AS9100 (C and Rev D is a plus) or ISO 9001
  • Familiar with ANSI Z540 calibration requirements,
  • ANZI Z1 Sampling procedures
  • Familiar with SPC, TQM, LEAN, Six Sigma Quality Engineering Methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of incoming and in-process inspection techniques, ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, hands on support for mechanical, electrical and optical inspections.
  • Fluent use of PC based programs (MS Office, MRP, AutoCAD or Solidworks.
  • Ability to work with suppliers and customers with excellent communication.

Certifications:

  • IPC-A-610 Solder Certification (current)
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt (preferred)
  • ASQE Certification (preferred)

Performance Expectations:

  • Not just doing the bare minimum but going above and beyond to push the company to the next level.
  • Cross training for the first few weeks but getting right into the work shortly after.
