About this job

The primary job duties are to provide technical expertise in electrical engineer to manufacturing and other departments. The primary aspects of this position are going to be on in the testing/debugging phase of the product life cycle where they are going to initiate, implement, and upgrade test procedures and test protocols for electro-mechanical instruments. They will also investigate Engineering Investigation Requests and implement Engineering Change Orders. Perform root cause analysis and oversee the repair of systems and components returned from the field will be an hour or so a day but this part of the job will be primarily completed by others currently on the team.They will be heavily responsible for troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies and recommend design improvements. Coordinate test script, firmware, and software upgrades with Software personnel. Troubleshoot circuit board assemblies and implement design improvements. Make changes as necessary due to component obsolescence. Utilize electronics CAD software (altium, Orcad, Pspice, Mentor Graphics, etc) to create new designs and upgrade existing products. Train manufacturing personnel on manufacturing procedures and assembly methods. Travel to customer sites for analysis of unique product failures. Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications / Education: -
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Five years minimum experience in a Manufacturing or development environment.
- Experience spanning through the entire electrical engineering life cycle of a product (design of electronic boards, testing/troubleshooting, release and sustaining of product post delivery with failures)
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electronic faults to component level. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. Experience with Windows based software applications.

Desired Qualifications: Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts. Experience with MRP and/or ERP systems. Experience with complex robotic systems.
