We are looking for a Civil Engineer to support our DOT projects.
The Roadway Project Engineer applies, plans, designs, directs, organizes, executes, and recommends related activities of North Carolina DOT and municipal roadway improvement projects within the organization. Assignments may include a diverse variety of transportation-related projects such as new location, widening, bicycle & pedestrian, highway safety, hydraulics, stormwater, intersection, interchange and design-build projects across all phases of a project life from advanced planning to final design.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide professional engineering design services for transportation improvements projects in North Carolina
Oversee design development and production of construction details, plans, specifications and estimates including detailed engineering calculations
Collaborate with clients, subconsultant partners, technical staff, and managers across multiple disciplines to develop quality deliverables within schedule and budgetary requirements
Direct and mentor design support staff
Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data; perform routine calculations, and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions
Assist managers with technical and cost proposal preparation
