About this job
Aerotek is partnering with a great company here in the Corporate Woods area to find a Medical Coder.
This individual is responsible for:
- timely and accurate diagnosis coding of assigned Home-care services/claims
- Review and identify errors and report them to supervisors or department managers
- Denial and insurance follow-up management
- Accurately assigns ICD-10-CM codes to diagnoses from the care plans
- Answers questions from clerical staff and insurance companies.
- Identifies and resolves patient billing problems.
Prepares, reviews, and sends patient statements to mailing service. - Reviews accounts and make recommendations to the Senior Claims Billing Specialist regarding non collectible accounts.
- Performs dialing collection actions including contacting insurance company, contacting site, correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers.
- Prepares and posts daily deposits received from customer site (P.O. Box) and/or lock box remittance.
- Processes payments and denials from insurance company either electronically or manually.
- Participates in educational activities.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
Requirements Include:
- CPC-RHIT Certified
- 4+ years of medical coding experience
- 2+ years medical coding experience in Emergency Room, Anesthesia, Radiology, or OBGYN.
Standard work week is M-F 8-5
